World Book Day 2026

Yesterday our school was filled with creativity, curiosity and a whole lot of literary energy as staff and students came together to celebrate World Book Day.

Our English Department set the tone for the day by stepping straight into character — arriving dressed head to toe as the cast of An Inspector Calls, one of the key texts studied by our GCSE students. Their commitment certainly brought the drama (and plenty of smiles), making literature feel even more alive in our corridors.

Over in the library, students took part in two engaging activities: Name the Book from its Cover and Book Bingo. Armed with question sheets, they explored the shelves, solved clues, completed challenges, and earned some well‑deserved sweets along the way. Final winners will be revealed soon!

And in true World Book Day fashion, our librarian embraced the spirit completely — spending the day as the White Rabbit from Alice in Wonderland, much to the delight of students visiting the library.

To round off the celebrations, staff across the school shared the books that have shaped them, sparking conversations about reading, inspiration, and the stories that stay with us.

A fantastic day all round — full of imagination, community, and the joy of reading. 📖💫
